Back At Apple ...
In about April of 2003, as described elsewhere in this Weblog, I ran into, almost literally, Steve Job's Keynote Address introducing OS X, Jaguar as it was called. I was so impressed, deeply moved, that I ran out and bought a used Turquise 'Smurf', the 450 MHz PowerPC G3 and converted it to run OS X. It required a bigger HD and a CD/DVD Re-Writer. Having done that, once again I was so impressed, motivated, that I ran down to CompUSA and bought a single 125 GHz PowerPC G4, the 'chromed bay-door' model and an Apple Studio Display with 1 GB DDR SDRAM.
According to the receipt, this was July 23 2003.
Now, despite the fact that I have subsequently bought a Dual 2 GHz PowerPC G5 with 1024 MB DDR SDRAM and an Apple Cinema Display, plus Apple's DVD Studio Pro 2 & Final Cut Pro 4, a 30 GB iPod, iTunes, iSight, and iLife - Apple just called me today, A year later, to see if I was aware of AppleCare Technical Assistance. I have had no contact with anyone prior to today.
