Okay. I'll admit it. I'm still running a little behind < Grin > on the web site. Admittedly at this point I was pretty wrapped up in the 'Horse Camp', the summer event for the children in and around the Dayempur community, plus I was working with the Kindergarten through, say, first or second grade at their school house, cooking on sundays and even spending a little time out at the farm ... I promise to rectify that shortly, 'In my spare time' as they say. If you have any pressing need or simply questions, let me know. Thanks to the internet, I'm quite accessible.
One or two of you have asked me to share a little bit more about what was going on with me there at Dayempur, The Dayemi Community in Carbondale IL and I'm really wondering aloud what that might have looked like ...
I'm way overdue in terms of revising my web site, as you have no doubt noticed and would like your feedback in terms of sharing. Here or there: The Beginning ... .
Most if not all of that site is now passe ... It's just a story and a story seen for the most part through old glasses. The 'me' who constructed that over the years is in the process of being replaced as well < Grin > and the Lord alone knows by what. What will this thing called 'me' look like?
I was spending three days a week, nominally, serving the children in a pre-school setting, One of those days out on the farm. I cooked Sunday evening meals at the Dargah, the community meeting place. I attended prayers three or four days a week there too. We had another community meeting Saturday mornings where we shared our more emotional 'stations' called 'Check-Ins' and I attended afternoon prayers four times a week at the school house, plus Friday prayers ( again at the Dargah ).
We also had evening programs a few times each month. As you may have guessed, ' Community' was theoretically high on their list ... Creating an environment for maximum individual and collective perfection, Frankly centered in Love ( Yes, With a capital 'L' ).
Naturally we struggled together constantly on the exploration of this thing called the 'ego', or the 'small self' as many might put it, in a very down-to-earth way and we did so both collectively and individually, in relationship ...
For the most part this was a culmination of the path that, in a sufi way, started with Pir Vilayat and Lex Hixon in concert. and continued until our abrupt parting with Sheikh Din ...

This is a site by Eric Benson, Assistant Professor of Graphic Design at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Don't forget to add a bookmark back to this site after your visit. I had nothing to do with his design but highlight his site due to the concise nature of his definitions of renewable and sustainable living, his 'philosophy'. ( re-nourish )

Okay. I finally sold both the Truck & The Trailer and lost nearly everything.I'm still searching for a viable livelihood.

In order to amortize my recent moves I continue to offer for sale a few precious items from my own collection. Up to & including two very fine examples of the Navaho Rugs of the 'Two Gray Hills Area' near Gallop New Mexico. I have met the sheep, raised on the open range, shorn and combed by hand, seen the natural dyes raised, again by hand under often grueling conditions, hand-dyed & hand-loomed- The overall process often takes up to five years for rugs of this size. An extremely rare opportunity.

Did I mention these are relatively rare 'Investment Grade' Navaho Rugs by a sixth-generation weaver?
